Family Photos: The Carrell Family

The Carrell Family gave me the opportunity to do best of both worlds - an intimate at-home session, and then a fun outdoors session. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how perfectly they nailed dressing for family photos?! Also I can't help but love a good flat-brimmed hat. Courtney killed it!
Toddlers can be challenging, and anyone who has ever been around a toddler will know that. So we just spent our outdoor time wandering, and allowing 3 year old T. to bring his favourites - Buzz & Woody - along for photos. If you look closely, he's got a little fist in most photos holding onto them for dear life...even in the indoor photos! Sometimes you gotta do, what you gotta do to keep a toddler happy.
Of course 8 year old E. was just a dream. I don't get a lot a lot of children to photograph who are older than 4-5, so being able to direct her, or just let her do her thing was such a fun change of pace.
ALSO - shout out to DJ - a dad who doesn't like getting his picture taken (shocking, I know) was such a good sport the whole time.

The family photos in the post felt very warm and genuine, especially the way simple moments between family members were captured so naturally.
