It Takes a Village: A Vow Renewal

They say "it takes a village to raise a child", well I think the same can be said when it comes to planning a major life event during a pandemic - the vow renewal of Alyssa + Matt was no exception.

These two had their original plans to get married derailed by COVID-19, and Matt surprised Alyssa with a wedding that he planned all on his own. So when Alyssa contacted me a year later to say they wanted to renew their vows and have the celebration they didn't get to have, I was 100% on-board.

Their wedding was the true embodiment of community. The venue was the backyard of a close friend, the food was catered by their church, live music done by family, and the flowers were actually curated by the talented bride herself! (If you're in need of local flowers - look up Woodnote Floral!) It ended up being in the badlands during a heatwave, plus wildfire smoke so the photos might've been hazy but made for the most beautiful, even lighting.

Despite it not being the way they had originally planned, in my eyes it made for the perfect day. The personal touches just prove that you don't need to have a $100,000 budget to throw a stunning wedding.

Alyssa + Matt were kind enough to share the following words with me:

"I am so thankful that we chose Jasmine to be our wedding photographer! From start to finish, she made the whole experience so amazing for us. Our plans changed a few times and Jasmine was flexible, encouraging, and easy to plan and communicate with. The day of, she was incredible! Not only was she super organized and timely, but she also made us feel so comfortable and relaxed and was ready to roll with anything. Jasmine’s warm and fun personality made it feel like we had a close friend as our photographer! Her photos are truly stunning… She captured the emotion and love of our day perfectly. We have so many precious moments to look back on because of her amazing work. We 10/10 would recommend Jasmine to anyone looking for a photographer."
